Early Square & Compasses

Book End or Door Stop

This early cast iron piece most-likely started out as a pair of bookends.  When one of the pair is lost the single remaining piece becomes jokingly referred to in the antique business as a door stop.  It is hand-painted and pictures the All-Seeing Eye, the pillars of Boaz and Jachin, and the Square and Compasses with the Letter "G".

A special "Thanks" from Brother Al Lohman, a 30 year collector and 30+ year Masonic Lodge member from Wisconsin.  Al trades on eBay under the User ID  "lochlohman"
