English Liverpool Pitcher

  

     

This English Liverpool Pitcher is in wonderful condition for 200 years old.  They were a common fixture in early English Lodges where Masons gathered to feast and drink after conducting their degrees.  The engraved transfers were applied to the finished glaze then refired in the kiln.  The poem says:  "The world is in pain, Our secrets to gain, But let them wonder and amaze, For they nev'r can divine, The word and the sign, Of a Free and Accepted Mason.  Circa 1790 and has an appraised market value of $500 - $800 US.
