This is an antique Civil War image of a Union soldier in uniform with his musket. The photo is in a gutta percha frame that measures 5 1/2 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches wide. The frame looks like twigs with the Letter "G" in the bottom center, an anchor, scroll and open Bible with the Square and Compasses.  The soldier is standing in front of a backdrop canvas with tents and an American Flag.  He is dressed in a long tunic jacket with a belt buckle initialed "US". Unfortunately the frame is missing its top edge. The back of the frame has a paper label which reads "Childs & Co. 10 Tremont St., Boston."
