1927 Crescent Shrine Temple

Frankart Cigar Lighter

This wonderful Frankart Cast Aluminum Cigar Lighter was made for Crescent Shrine Temple of Trenton, New Jersey for the 53rd Annual Imperial Council Session held at the Hotel Chelsea Auditorium in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 13, 1927.   The Frankart Company was a well-known foundry that cast many beautiful art nouveau statuettes and other objects.  This Cigar Lighter works by pressing the wooden button on the back of the Shriners' fez which activates the electric coil burner for lighting cigars.  It measures 6 inches tall and is 4 1/4 inches wide and 4 inches deep.   It is considered very rare and hard to find.
